When playing descending a Major Scale the notes of the chord<\/strong> are on the “and” (off beat)<\/strong> instead of falling to “ground”. (on beat)<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the purpose of playing rhythmically correct<\/strong>, Barry Harris presents us with the concept: Half Step Rule by means of which we will be able to play the notes of the chord to “ground” (on beat)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These rules are divided into:<\/p>\n

Odd Group:<\/strong> When we start from the tonic (1) of the 3rd, 5th or 7th.<\/p>\n

Even Group:<\/strong> When we start from the 2nd, the 4th or the 6th.<\/p>\n
